What I did on my summer vacation

I had planned on leaving tomorrow for 4 days in the woods in Canada with a bunch of strangers. After reading their email list archives and getting some odd emails from some participants, I decided that I didn’t really want to go.  I will miss the opportunity to hang out at a lake in the woods but the other, not so much.  *sigh*  Must get out of town at some point.

Last week was a bit odd for me.  As expected but odd to be in it.  Lots of down time, napping, not getting much done.  With the exception of the slight twitterpation of potential love interest, it was a bit off.  Continue reading

And the lovely translucent irridescent pink nail polish I found in her basket?  Happened to be called Rosy Future.

Scrubbed until I gleam, lotioned until I glow, satiated…

And the Korean squid and veggie stirfry was heaven. The nap when I returned home? Divine.

Just saying.

Why are we here?

I believe that I am here to live as fully a human life as I possibly can. To love, to hate, to cry, to laugh, to rejoice, to find rapture, to feel pain, to jump into the lake and feel it all from my head to my toes. I’m not afraid of love and I’m not afraid of loss. I’m totally willing to risk it all for the greater possibilities. And nothing is ever a mistake. So what if I get a bit of heartache. I’d rather have loved than lost than never had loved at all.  It ain’t as trite as one might suppose. I am certainly not here to live in fear. That might be why you’re here but I’m simply not interested.  It doesn’t mean I don’t find myself afraid, but I don’t live there.  That is not where I pitch my tent.
