I got a call last night from the organizers of the Gathering I decided not to go to. There was a huge landslide onto the only road in and out of the canyon where the park is. The event has been cancelled. Full refunds all around. Which was happeningfor me anyway but it appears that it just wasn’t meant to be. Why does that make me feel better?

The week in Cancer
The world record for attaching clothespins to one’s face is 153. Even if you’re tempted to surpass that mark, I beg you not to. Inflicting pain on yourself in order to impress someone or prove a point is never a good idea, but it’s an especially misguided notion right now. I wouldn’t object, however, if you did the opposite, which is to barrage yourself with pleasure in order to impress someone or prove a point. In my astrological opinion, it’s a perfect time to intensify your commitment to making yourself feel good. This is true for many reasons, but here’s one of the most important ones: It will have a magically tonic effect on your relationships with others.
Twist my arm why don’t you?
Off to the thrift store to see what sweaters and coats they have out before the hoards start looking for autumn clothing…
What I did on my summer vacation
I had planned on leaving tomorrow for 4 days in the woods in Canada with a bunch of strangers. After reading their email list archives and getting some odd emails from some participants, I decided that I didn’t really want to go. I will miss the opportunity to hang out at a lake in the woods but the other, not so much. *sigh* Must get out of town at some point.
Last week was a bit odd for me. As expected but odd to be in it. Lots of down time, napping, not getting much done. With the exception of the slight twitterpation of potential love interest, it was a bit off. Continue reading
Bambooooooo!
oh boy oh boy.
My new Bamboo just arrived. Sure, I do bamboo. If I owned my own home and was getting new floors, they’d be bamboo. I just bought four yards of gorgeous pink bamboo cloth, soft as feathers. I replaced all my plastic cutting boards with bamboo. But this? The new Bamboo?
I’m so very excited. I also got a new printer that is also a copier and a scanner. Didn’t go for the fax and I might regret that but for $80 I couldn’t pass it up.
I will be plugging in my new toys to my other new toy and let you know how it goes.
Update: Boy do I have a lot of practicing to do. I’m a dork with the pen. Looks like a 4th grader…
I Am The Egg Man
Back in May I had a dream. After all these years of dreaming my dreams and doing what I can to interpret them, I believe that my dreams aren’t all that opaque. They are pretty straight forward in the symbolism. And yesterday afternoon I realized that this new interest is, in fact, The Egg Man from this dream (including the stubble).
There are some similarities to my last relationship that are a bit disconcerting as well. A tendency towards illness, slovenliness, and too many meds that impact too many things. All in all a charming man, as was Narcissus, lots of good smiles and some fun. But fundamental, foundational things are just sadly lacking.
It’s too bad because The Egg Man is a good communicator. He talks; about himself, his life, his stories. And while I love a man who can talk and be honest and I do love to listen if he actually has something to say, The Egg Man hogs the conversation time and shows only interest in himself. One, maybe two questions about me. Hasn’t shown much interest in who I am. And that’s cool. Continue reading
